Paint Brushes

We started by stocking only the excellent Vallejo brushes, but these have become really hard to obtain in the UK. Luckily, our importer has (with Vallejo's blessing) gone direct to the manufacturer they subcontracted production to. We are therefore proud to be among the first in the UK to offer the Creative Models brushes. Exactly the same quality, from the same production line, the only difference is that the handles have a slightly different colour scheme, and they will actually be available !

In addition, we have branched out and started selling Javis sable brushes, which are slightly cheaper and almost as good.

Which is the right brush to use ?

We currently stock four types of brush; Kolinsky Sable, Javis Pure Sable, Toray Synthetic, and Paintmaster Flat, plus a selection of brush cleaners and restorers.

Kolinsky Sable Brushes - made from Red Marta sable, giving superb suppleness and holding great volumes of paint. They give a smooth brush-stroke free finish, and are the choice of professional model painters. Properly looked after, they should last for years.

Javis Sable Brushes - made from pure sable, these have a slightly more rounded point than the Creative or Vallejo bruhes, but can hold slightly more paint.

Toray Synthetic Brushes - Toray fibre is the ideal material for making the hairs on synthetic brushes. They are perfect for high-quality general model and figure painting (almost as good as sable brushes, and much better than some of the really cheap brushes you can buy !), and work well with paints of all kinds.

Paintmaster Flat Brushes - These flat brushes are made by Vallejo (one of the few that so far are still frequently imported) and are ideal for washes and painting larger flat areas. Made from blended Toray synthetic fibres, they hold great volumes of paint and give smooth, mark free brushstrokes.
