Ambroid Pro-Weld
| Ambroid Pro-Weld is a clear, liquid adhesive for ABS, styrene, butyrate and acrylic plastics. In other words, the stuff most construction kits are made of ! It works by using capillary action to get into the joints, and then melts a very thin layer of the two surfaces to form a welded joint. Only has to be held for about 20 seconds to form the joint, although full strength takes a little while longer to develop. Comes in a 2 oz bottle with brush applicator. For gluing more delicate parts, we recommend using a pointed natural hair brush, which gives even greater control of the glue. This glue is best used in reasonably well ventilated areas ! Shipping weight = 155g | £3.50 | |
UHU Por Styrofoam
| UHU Por is a contact adhesive designed to stick expanded polystyrene and styrofoam to itself, wood, metal, glass, card, and most plastics. Unlike many "traditional" glues it won't melt holes in the polystyrene ! Comes in a 50ml tube. Shipping weight = 75g | £3.10 | |
UHU Hart Balsa Glue
| UHU Hart is another product from the famous glue manufacturer, designed for balsa and other light wood products. It's a clear, rapid drying adhesive; the tube comes with a screw-on applicator tip. Supplied in a 125g (116ml) tube - the large size, about 20cm long ! Shipping weight = 175g | £4.40 | |
Westbury PVA Adhesive
| Nice standard high quality PVA glue. Sticks balsa, wood, styrene, MDF, paper, card, fabrics etc. But the main reason we've included it is because it's got a nice fine applicator tip which is ideal when used to put glue on figure bases prior to dunking them in basing materials. It is also invaluable if you collect soft plastic figures - it dries clear, so is ideal to dilute slightly and paint on as a final coat. Because of it's flexibility and sticking power, it will help to greatly reduce that awful old problem of the paint flaking off, especially on arms, legs and weapons ! Non-toxic and pthalate free, comes in a 125ml bottle. Shipping weight = 170g | £2.35 | |
Bison Handy Plastic
| Bison Plastic is a strong contact adhesive specially designed to stick the kind of rigid plastics that most glues don't.
It will stick ABS (yes, that stuff most motorcycle bodywork is made of these days....), rigid PVC, polycarbonate, lexan, and acrylic glass (as used in bike & car indicators).
Parts glued with Bison should be clamped for 24 hours before use. It's not quick, but it's strong !
Comes in a 25ml (23.5g) tube.
Please note that it isn't suitable for use with polystyrene (either expanded or rigid as used in many model kits), or flexible plastics like vinyl. Shipping weight = 66g | £2.30
Zap a Gap a Goo
| An all purpose adhesive and sealant. Sticks most things to most other things, remaining flexible after curing. Maximum strength is reached after 24-36 hours. Comes in an 88.7ml (3 fl oz) tube, with applicator nozzle. Shipping weight = 132g | £3.20 | |
Plasti-Zap
| Plasti-Zap PT19 is a quick setting cyanoacrylate glue specifically designed to work on plastic and semi-rigid vinyl. It is medium-viscous, with a penetrating formula to get into small cracks, and sets to form a strong bond in just a few seconds.
Clear when dry, Plasti-Zap won't attack paint and is ideal for plastic modelling projects of all kinds, as well as general plastic repairs around the home and on your car or bike.
Comes in a 10g bottle. Shipping weight = 30g | £2.70
Rail Zip
| Rail Zip PT23 is a concentrated advanced technology track cleaner and corrosion inhibitor produced by Zap.
Applied sparingly with a sponge or soft cloth, it is safe if any gets onto plastic components and will protect your track for 8-12 weeks before you need to reapply it. It also reduces sparking which can burn the rails and reduce the flow of electricity to your locomotives.
If you are serious about the performance of your model railway, this is the stuff for you ! It doesn't say it on the bottle, but I suspect it works well for Scalextric and other motorised model car systems where power is delivered by metal strips in the track.
Comes in a 29ml (1 fl oz) bottle. Shipping weight = 50g | £3.60
Zap After Run
| Zap's After Run is designed for maintenance of 2-stroke and 4-stroke model engines, especially glow engines. It significantly retards the rate of corrosion, penetrates existing corrosion, and protects the working surfaces from effects of the fuels & lubricants used. After Run is particularly recommended if you are putting an engine into storage for any period of time. An additional use, because it acts to restore conductivity, is in radio & radio control systems. Comes in a 29ml (1 fl oz) bottle. Shipping weight = 50g | £3.90 | |
Zap Gel
| Superglue gel.... a cyanoacrylate adhesive gel with the ability to fill gaps and ensure a better bond. Zap are an American company who pioneered cyanoacrylate superglues, and are still market leaders in the field. Comes in a 3g tube. Shipping weight = 18g | £1.62 | |
Zap Debonder
| Zap Z-7 Debonder is one of those things that you don't need often, but when you need it, you REALLY need it ! It softens cyanoacrylate superglues so that things glued with them can be pulled apart; this includes both models which have been mis-assembled, and fingers stuck to each other or your favourite new tank.... Supplied in a 29.6ml (1 fl oz) bottle. Shipping weight = 40g | £2.99 | |
Threadlocker
| Zap's Z42 is probably the finest blue threadlocker you can buy, not just for model making, but also if you're an avid home mechanic !
It seals metal parts to prevent them vibrating loose, but allows them to be easily removed when required using hand tools. The manufacturers describe the formula as "agressive" because no primer is required, you just need to ensure the parts are clean and free of oil or grease prior to assembly.
Although the parts are ready to use immediately on assembly, maximum strength develops in 24 hours. As with all such products, don't get it in your eyes or drink it !
This item is a 6ml (0.20 fl oz) bottle. Shipping weight = 33g | £2.10
Humbrol Modelcote Decalfix
| This is the ideal thing to use if you're a model aircraft builder ! It's designed to be painted onto the place where you plan to put the decal, and then another layer painted on afterwards. It helps you slide the decal into place, softens it so that it fits the surface closely, protects it once on, and helps hide the glossy carrier film. Supplied in a 28ml bottle. Shipping weight = 100g | £2.70 | |
| Milliput - Standard The original two-part epoxy modelling putty. Setting time depends on temperature - normally 3-4 hours, but you can speed it up with a hairdryer, although we don't recommend putting it in the oven ! It's got thousands of uses, not only in modelling but for general use. It'll set under water, so it's also useful for temporary plumbing repairs ! Shipping weight = 145g | £2.30 | |
| Milliput - Silver-Grey Slightly finer than standard Milliput, the silver-grey is good for detail modelling, restoration of ceramics, and other general model-making uses. Shipping weight = 145g | £4.20 | |
| Milliput - Superfine White The finest in the Milliupt range, superfine is ideal for high detail modelling and restoration of porcelain. As with all of them, the surface can be smoothed further with a little water - it'll mix in to make a fine slip, but still dries waterproof. Note that Milliput recommend that you mix the two parts for at least 5 minutes with superfine, which is slightly longer than it takes for the other grades. This is mostly because the two parts are a similar colour so it's harder to tell when full blending has happened. Shipping weight = 145g | £4.60 | |
| Milliput - Black The black Milliput is ideal if you want to match a black surface without painting it afterwards. As well as modelling, it's also good for repairing dark cast iron, slate, black plastic car parts etc. Shipping weight = 145g | £4.25 | |
